Emblem of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers.

One of the most dangerous occupations of the late 19th century was ironworking, and local labor organizations were formed to provide sickness, injury and death benefits to the families of ironworkers. Representatives from the local organizations met in Pittsburgh in 1896 for the founding meeting of this trade union.
